SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
Job Description
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:
- Oversee stormwater management, floodplain protection, hydrology/hydraulics, and drainage capital projects
- Lead updates to the Citywide Storm Drain Master Plan
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality and environmental regulations
- Manage budgets, supervise staff, and provide technical guidance across multiple city functions
- Collaborate with departments, agencies, consultants, and community stakeholders
This position requires both technical expertise and leadership acumen, with a strong focus on problem-solving, project delivery, and regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience
- Drainage and public works experience highly desirable
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid California Class C driver s license (or ability to obtain)
- Valid California Civil Engineer (PE) license
- Out-of-state PE license holders must obtain California licensure within one (1) year of appointment
