Job Description
As its new Civil Engineer I/II, you ll play a vital role in planning, designing, and delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects that will shape the City s future for generations to come. Working under the guidance of a Senior Civil Engineer, you ll handle a wide variety of engineering assignments from designing new systems to modernizing existing assets.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
- One year of responsible civil engineering experience or a related internship (paid or unpaid).
- Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate (or the ability to obtain within one year of hire).
- Valid California Driver s License and safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a post-offer medical exam (including drug test) and background check.
- Preference for non-tobacco users.
Engineer II:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering.
- Four years of progressively responsible engineering experience equivalent to Engineer I work.
- Valid registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in California at time of application.
- All other qualifications listed above for Engineer I.
