Job Description
A government agency in San Diego County is in need of a Senior Engineer, who will play a vital leadership role in the planning, design, construction, and oversight of Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), public buildings, utilities, and transportation systems.
Under general direction, the Senior Engineer will:
- Lead and manage a variety of engineering projects with an emphasis on Capital Improvement Projects.
- Supervise consultants, coordinate with internal departments, and mentor junior staff.
- Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to professional and regulatory standards.
- Support the Principal Engineer, Assistant Director, and Director of Public Services & Engineering in high-level project management and policy implementation.
- Provide expert-level engineering support for water resources, transportation, public buildings, and infrastructure systems.

Job Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience.
- Experience leading staff and/or supervising projects is highly desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Licenses & Certificates:
- Possession of a valid Class C California Driver s License with a safe driving record.
- Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California is required.
- Minimum five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience.
- Experience leading staff and/or supervising projects is highly desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Licenses & Certificates:
