Job Description
A City Government in Loas Angeles County is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Associate Engineer to join its Public Works or Engineering Department. Under direction, the Associate Engineer performs a wide range of professional field and office engineering duties related to planning, design, construction, and maintenance of capital improvement projects and public infrastructure. This includes work involving water systems, stormwater, streets, facilities, and parks.
This is a journey-level professional classification. The Associate Engineer performs the full scope of engineering duties independently and with minimal supervision. This position is distinguished from the Senior Civil Engineer, who handles more complex projects and supervises staff.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with technical expertise in civil engineering and public infrastructure. They are comfortable working independently, using sound judgment, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid California Driver s License, maintained throughout employment.
