Job Description
A City Governement in Los Angeles County is seeking a Planning Director who is a key executive leader responsible for shaping and guiding the physical and environmental development of the City. Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, the Director plans, organizes, manages, and oversees the functions of the Planning Department, including current planning, long-range/advance planning, environmental review, permitting, and code enforcement.
This position plays a vital role in implementing the City s vision and strategic priorities through land use and development policy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a high standard of service to the community. The Planning Director serves as a senior advisor to the City Council, Planning Commission, and City Manager on all planning and development matters.

Job Requirements
Education:
- A Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, community development, public administration, or a closely related field is required
- A Master s degree is highly desirable
Experience:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal planning, zoning, or community development
- At least four (4) years of management-level experience supervising professional staff and managing departmental operations
- A Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, community development, public administration, or a closely related field is required
- A Master s degree is highly desirable
Experience:
