A City in Sonoma County is seeking a strategic, dynamic, and community-driven leader to serve as its first Parks and Recreation Director, overseeing the City s newly established Parks and Recreation Department. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape the department s vision from the ground up while enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
As Director, you will lead the management and development of parks, trails, and preserves, as well as municipal cemeteries. This role requires both visionary leadership and practical execution in a politically engaged and community-oriented environment.

Job Requirements
Education:
- A Bachelor s degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Public Administration, or a related field is desirable.
Experience:
- At least 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in parks and recreation program management.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
