Job Description
A City Government in Kern County is seeking an experienced and visionary Finance Director to manage the City s Finance Division, which includes Treasury, Billing & Collections, and Accounting. Reporting to the City Manager, this position plays a critical role in formulating fiscal policy, developing goals and objectives, and overseeing all aspects of the City s financial operations.
The next Finance Director will be a collaborative, ethical, and forward-thinking leader with strong communication skills and a proven track record in municipal finance. The ideal candidate will be a mentor and coach, able to delegate effectively while fostering professional growth within the Finance Division.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Master s degree is desirable.
- Five (5) years of management or supervisory experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a public agency or governmental setting.
- Must be bondable and complete an annual Statement of Economic Interest.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
