Job Description
A city government is Los Angeles County is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to perform highly responsible, technical, and confidential work in payroll processing and financial accounting. This role is essential in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll functions, conducting detailed bank and account reconciliations, and providing comprehensive support to the Administrative Services Department.
The Senior Accounting Technician prepares financial and statistical reports, reconciles accounts, maintains financial and payroll records, and supports internal teams with budget and audit preparation. This position demands integrity, attention to detail, and excellent analytical and communication skills to maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
Experience:
- Five (5) years of experience in payroll processing and/or accounting functions in a public agency setting
- Experience must include maintenance of financial records, reconciliation, and payroll processing
- A Master s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable
