Job Description
A government agency in Los Angeles County is seeking a Budget Development Officer to play a critical leadership role within the Budget Management Bureau and reports directly to the Budget Manager. This at-will management position leads the planning and coordination of the City s annual budget development process, serving as the strategic driver behind budget strategy, system validation, public presentation coordination, and reporting.
The Officer will guide cross-departmental collaborations, engage with senior executives and elected officials, supervise staff, and oversee financial systems such as BPREP, Munis, and Simpler Reporting. The role demands strategic oversight, strong technical fluency, and the ability to develop and mentor a team of budget professionals while facilitating meaningful discussions on citywide financial issues.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.(Proof of education required at time of submission.)
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible budget or finance experience in a related field.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory or managerial experience.
