Job Description
A government agency in Los Angeles County is seeking a Deputy City Engineer to provide leadership and day-to-day management of the Engineering Division, overseeing planning, design, and construction of public works projects. This senior-level role coordinates engineering operations, manages Capital Improvement Program (CIP) delivery, administers contracts, and ensures regulatory compliance.
The Deputy City Engineer serves as a key advisor to the Director of Public Works and may act as City Engineer when designated, with no additional compensation.

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of responsible professional experience in public works design and construction, including two (2) years in a supervisory role.
Licenses & Certifications
- Registered Civil Engineer (P.E.) in the State of California Required
- Traffic Engineer (T.E.) license in California Highly Desirable
- Valid California Class C Driver s License and proof of insurance Highly Desirable
