A government agency in Ventura County invites you to join its leadership team as Deputy Community Development Director a key role at the forefront of shaping our city's future.
As Deputy Community Development Director, you will:
- Oversee the Planning Division and supervise professional planning staff
- Serve as the principal liaison to the Planning Commission
- Lead complex development and long-range planning projects
- Play a key role in implementing the General Plan 2050 and upcoming zoning code update
- Collaborate with other departments, external agencies, developers, and the public
- Support strategic decision-making and department-wide initiatives

Job Requirements
A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities will be considered. A typical path includes:
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory or administrative role
- Bachelor s degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- AICP certification and a Master s degree are highly desirable
