Job Description
A city government in Riverside County is seeking a Planning Manager to work under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the Planning Division's day-to-day operations. This includes the development and administration of the City's General Plan, zoning code, land use policy, and transportation planning. The role manages current and long-range planning activities and supervises professional, technical, and administrative staff. The Planning Manager also serves as a key advisor to the Planning Commission and supports interdepartmental coordination and community engagement related to planning initiatives.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
- A Master s degree is preferred and may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Experience:
- Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience in land use planning or community development, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Public agency experience strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- AICP certification is desirable.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver s License.
