Job Description
A city government in Orange County is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Plan Check to join our Community Development Department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the safety and quality of our built environment by ensuring compliance with critical building codes and engineering standards.
As a Civil Engineer Plan Check, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing building plans, structural designs, and complex engineering documents to determine their completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. You will also provide technical support to architects, engineers, contractors, and the public regarding code requirements and permit procedures.

- At least three (3) years of experience checking building plans and/or multi-phased structural designs.
Education:
- Equivalent to a bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, structural engineering, or architecture.
License or Certificate:
- A valid California Class C driver s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Registration as a California Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, depending on assignment.
- ICC Building Plans Examiner certificate required within six (6) months of appointment.
- At least three (3) years of experience checking building plans and/or multi-phased structural designs.
