Job Description
A city government in Solano County is seeking a Director of Community Development who will plan, manage, and oversee the City s Community Development Department operations. The department encompasses planning, building inspection and compliance, code enforcement, economic development, engineering services, and community development block grant programs.
The Director coordinates department activities with other City departments, outside agencies, and community stakeholders, and provides expert support to the City Council, City Manager, and Planning Commission. This at-will position is appointed by the City Manager and may serve as Acting City Manager if designated.

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Public Administration, Planning, Urban Studies, or related field (Master s degree strongly desired).
- Five (5) years of broad and extensive experience in urban planning, economic development, or related fields, with at least three (3) years in a responsible management role.
- Experience with large-scale residential and commercial development projects is required.
Licenses
- Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver s License.
