Job Description
A city government in Los Angeles County is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Community Development to lead and oversee programs that foster community growth, economic prosperity, engagement, and sustainability.
As the Director of Community Development, you will play a key role in shaping the City's future. This high-impact position involves implementing innovative development solutions, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring the successful execution of vital projects that support a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable community.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will plan, direct, coordinate, and review the operations of divisions within the Community Development Department. The role also includes providing expert support in the development, analysis, and implementation of City Council policies.

Job Requirements
- A strong background in community planning and development
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and programs
- Exceptional knowledge of social and economic development principles
- A Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, urban studies, planning, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in housing, economic development/redevelopment, planning, building and safety, or code enforcement programs including significant supervisory experience.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and programs
