Job Description
The City of Manhattan Beach is seeking an experienced and visionary Community Development Director to lead a dynamic department dedicated to advancing the livability, sustainability, and mobility of the community. This is an exciting opportunity to join an engaged and high-performing leadership team in one of Southern California s most desirable coastal cities.
As a member of the City s executive leadership team, the Community Development Director will:
- Provide strategic oversight of all department functions and services.
- Drive innovation in urban planning and sustainability.
- Collaborate with a highly engaged community and City Council on high-impact projects.
- Foster a positive, service-oriented culture within the department.

Job Requirements
- 8 years of progressively responsible experience in planning, zoning, and community development within local government, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
- A Bachelor s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
- A Master s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
