Job Description
A city government in San Diego County is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Engineer to support the planning, design, and construction of diverse public infrastructure projects especially in water resources such as stormwater and wastewater systems.
Under direction, the Associate Engineer will manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the City's standards. The role includes field and office responsibilities, project coordination, and providing support to senior engineering staff and leadership.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field.
- At least four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience.
Licenses and Certificates:
- Valid California Class C Driver s License with a clean driving record.
- Possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate.
- Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current California P.E. License (Professional Civil Engineer).
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in or for a public agency.
- Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field.
