ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR
Job Description
A government agency in San Diego County is seeking a forward-thinking and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Finance to help lead the daily operations of its Finance Department and support citywide fiscal responsibility and transparency.
In this pivotal role, you ll oversee a department with wide-ranging responsibilities, including budgeting, accounting, purchasing, payroll, customer service, and financial reporting. As second-in-command, you'll work closely with the Director of Finance and serve as acting director as needed.

Job Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Six (6) years of increasingly responsible financial experience, including two (2) years in a management or supervisory role (preferably in local government).
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Highly Desirable:
- Master s degree in a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPFO (Certified Public Finance Officer) certification.
