ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Job Description
A government agency in Santa Clara County is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to serve as Assistant Director of Open Space, Parks, and Golf. In this critical leadership role, you will help guide a high-performing team in managing and enhancing the City's exceptional parklands, natural open spaces, and municipal golf course.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be a collaborative leader with strong skills in contracts, budgeting, and capital project oversight
- Have a proven ability to build consensus and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the community
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Bring innovative thinking to preserve and enhance Palo Alto s natural and recreational resources
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor s degree required
- Experience: At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in park and open space management, golf course operations, capital improvements, or community services including 5 years in a management or leadership role
