A City Governement in San Joaquin County is seeking an experienced, visionary, and collaborative City Manager to lead the organization and community into its next chapter of success.The City Manager will serve as the chief executive officer, responsible for:
- Overseeing daily municipal operations and implementing City Council goals.
- Fostering a high-performing, engaged, and professional workforce.
- Inspiring innovation, accountability, and service excellence across all departments.
- Enhancing the City s image and reputation through effective leadership, communication, and community engagement.
- Building consensus and partnerships among diverse stakeholders.
- Guiding both immediate priorities and long-term strategies that strengthen Stockton as a model city and employer of choice.
This role requires a leader who can balance vision with execution, who thrives in a diverse and dynamic community, and who can provide reasoned, researched, and transparent recommendations to the City Council.

Education: Bachelor s degree required; Master s degree in Public Administration or related field highly desired.
Experience: 7 10 years of senior-level government leadership experience as a Chief Executive, Assistant/Deputy Chief Executive, or Department Head in an agency of comparable size and complexity.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- ICMA Credentialed Manager status.
- Knowledge and experience with California laws, policies, and regulations.
- Bilingual skills.
