Job Description

A Government Agency in Riverside County invites candidates to bring innovation, expertise, and collaborative spirit to its dynamic team as its next Planning and Development Director.

As Planning and Development Director, you will:
- Lead a dedicated team of nearly 60 professionals across three divisions: Planning, Building Plan Review & Inspection (including Code Compliance), and Development Services.
- Tackle complex urban design challenges with creativity and confidence, delivering solutions that align with the City s vision for smart growth, sustainability, and community well-being.
- Provide strategic advice and innovative leadership as a key member of the City Manager s Leadership Team.
- Humbly represent the City s interests with developers, businesses, community partners, and residents while upholding the highest standards of service and accountability.
- Embrace opportunities for collaboration across departments, ensuring that Corona remains a place where businesses thrive and families flourish.

Job Requirements

- Experience: Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in urban or regional planning, architecture, public administration, or a related discipline including at least five (5) years at a Manager or Deputy Director level.
- Education: A bachelor s degree in urban or regional planning, architecture, public administration, or a closely related field is required. A master s degree and/or AICP certification are desirable.
- Leadership: Proven track record of delivering results through strong people leadership, customer service excellence, and innovative problem-solving.
- Values: A collaborative mindset, emotional intelligence, and a passion for providing an exceptional experience to residents, businesses, and stakeholders.
