A Government Agency in Contra Costa County is seeking a detail-oriented, service-focused, and tech-savvy professional to join our team as its next Manager of Council Services, Elections, and Records (Assistant City Clerk). Under the leadership of the City Clerk, you ll play a hands-on leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the City Clerk s Office. You will:
- Manage City Council services, including agenda development, minutes preparation, and public meeting support.
- Oversee the elections process in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure accurate management of public records and fulfill Public Records Act requests with efficiency and transparency.
- Train and mentor administrative staff and departmental liaisons, helping build organizational knowledge and capacity.
- Provide excellent service to residents, elected officials, businesses, and City staff.
- Bring technical savvy and embrace tools like Legistar, Laserfiche, and other records management systems to deliver timely, accurate, and accessible information.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible office management experience, including supervision, interpretation of laws and regulations, and extensive public contact.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory-level experience, including oversight of subordinate staff.
- Must obtain and maintain a Notary Public Commission within six (6) months of employment.
- Public sector experience and certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks are highly desirable.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible office management experience, including supervision, interpretation of laws and regulations, and extensive public contact.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory-level experience, including oversight of subordinate staff.
- Must obtain and maintain a Notary Public Commission within six (6) months of employment.
