Job Description

A city goovernment in Contra Costa County is seeking a motivated, customer-oriented individual for the position of Accounting Assistant. This entry-level clerical role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in governmental accounting and utility billing support.

As an Accounting Assistant, you will contribute to the City s financial operations by providing excellent customer service, maintaining accurate financial records, and performing a variety of clerical accounting duties.

Job Requirements

- Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Strong mathematical skills and precision in record keeping.
- Financial Acumen: Basic knowledge of clerical and governmental accounting principles.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and financial databases.
- Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
- Experience: At least one year of clerical experience, preferably involving financial record keeping and public contact.
