Job Description
A government agency in Los Angeles County is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and service-driven Accountant to join our Finance Department. Under general supervision, the Accountant performs a full range of professional accounting duties, including reconciling financial transactions, preparing reports and audits, analyzing fiscal records, and supporting budget development. This position plays a key role in maintaining the City s fiscal integrity and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform professional accounting work in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, and business licensing.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers on a regular basis.
- Analyze, audit, and verify a variety of financial records and transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, financial schedules, and statistical reports.
- Assist in the preparation of the City s annual operating and capital improvement budgets.

Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or auditing experience.
