A municipal agency in Santa Barbara County, CA is in need of a Fleet Supervisor. The position is slated to run 3-6 months full-time, and has opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Under direction, to plan, layout, and supervise the work of heavy equipment mechanics and other personnel engaged in equipment service, repair, and preventive maintenance; to maintain equipment records; to assist with budget maintenance and purchasing procedures in equipment maintenance; and to perform related work as required.
The class of Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is a first level supervisory class responsible for the work of a crew assigned to the service, repair, and preventive maintenance of a wide variety of automotive and related mechanical equipment.
Must have a current California Drivers License. Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position. The typical qualifying entrance background is five years of experience as a journey-level skilled mechanic, including at least one year in a lead capacity. Knowledge of: Operating principles of automotive equipment and techniques of repair and maintenance; principles of preventive maintenance; safe driving principles and practices
