A municipal organization in Kern County, CA area is in immediate need of a Finance Director to fill a vacancy within the Finance Division.

#1 Priority is to close the books for 2018, finish the audit, and prepare the CAFR.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week for approximately 3 to 6 months. Compensation is $45 to $65 per hour, DOE/DOQ.

The Finance Director reports directly to the City Manager and plans, develops, implements, organizes, manages, continuously improves, supervises, directs, and evaluates the accounting (general ledger, payroll, grants, A/P and A/R) and budget operations of the agency.
You should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline and five (5) or more years of increased responsibility at a municipal agency's Finance department. CPA is desirable but not required.
