We have a municipal agency near the city of San Bernardino that is in need of a City Planner.

Job duties: Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the City Planner plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the Planning/Redevelopment and Building Divisions of the Development Services Department.
Supervises and participates in the preparation of comprehensive reports based upon careful research and study of planning, redevelopment and building problems.
Plans, organizes, and manages the activities of professional, technical, and clerical personnel engaged in the compilation, analysis and interpretation of data affecting community planning and development.
Prepares and administers the agency's comprehensive general plan within established policies and procedures.
Assigns professional assistants to specific surveys and community planning projects; supervises the compilation of materials and the writing of reports pursuant to such surveys.
Directs preparation of zoning ordinances and zoning maps, and the revision of such ordinances and maps.
Serves as technical advisor to the Planning Commission, General Manager, Board of Directors, and department heads on planning and zoning problems.
Serves as Executive Director of the agency s Redevelopment Agency.
Attends Board of Directors Meetings and Redevelopment Agency Meetings and study sessions.
Represents the Planning Commission at public meetings and at conferences with other public and private groups.
Coordinates private development with the city service and supervises the progress of redevelopment projects and public projects.
Interprets departmental policies and governing codes and regulations to departmental employees.
You should have five (5) or more years serving in a lead position at a municipal agency within the Community/Building/Planning department. AICP and/or CEQA preferred.
