JOB DUTIES: Oversees the operation of the Engineering Division activities and programs by setting objectives; and planning, organizing, directing and monitoring the performance of staff.
Provides leadership to the Construction Management section to provide inspection, contract administration for permitted work and Capital Improvement projects.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the engineering division.
Develops the annual Capital Improvement Program by identifying short and long term goals and objectives to provide quality infrastructure and implements the Council-adopted Capital Improvement Program.
Advises the Department Director on all matters relating to engineering, construction, development, water quality and park development.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of civil engineering, including three (3) years supervisory/management experience in a municipal agency.
Graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in Civil Engineering. Master's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable.
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE:
Certification as a registered Professional Civil Engineer by the State of California.
