A municipal organization in the Los Angeles, CA is in need of a City Clerk. This is a full-time position to run for 3-4 months and could transition to a permanent opportunity at the client's discretion.

PAY RATE RANGE: $50 to $55 per hour, DOE/DOQ.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparing City Council meeting agenda and information packet.Recording meeting minutes for the City Council.Providing access to the public and staff of City records.Accepting claims and service of other legal documents.Acting as the filing officer for Fair Political Practices Commission required filings.Establishing systems for preserving, protecting and destroying public records in accordance with law.
Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience, which provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job: high school diploma/GED (req'd); BA/BS or equivalent with major college course work in business administration, public administration or closely related field (desired); at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing professional administrative support and complex office administration duties. Prior experience within a City Clerk's office or municipal setting is highly desirable.
