A local government agency near Sutter County is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance Department to fill a position vacancy for 3+ months. This is full-time position. Compensation is DOE/DOQ.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Prepares complex financial reports and analyses for submission to local, state and federal governmental agencies.
Directs and reviews the work of subordinate staff members.
Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers.
Prepares journal vouchers for adjusting and correcting accounting records.
Balances accounts.
Prepares year-end adjusting and closing entries.
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL LEVELS:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of professional governmental accounting, budgeting and auditing.
Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices, systems and equipment as applied to financial operations.
Comprehensive working knowledge of the principles and practices of data processing.
Skill in the operation of required office equipment.
Five or more years of accounting experience with at least two of those years at a municipality.
