A government organization in Los Angeles County, CA is looking for a Public Information Coordinator to fill a vacancy within the Public Works Department. This is a part-time position working 29 hours per week for at least 2 -3+ months and can, at the clients discretion, be extended or made permanent. Compensation is DOE/DOQ.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Act as a communication coordinator for the Public Works department both internally and externally.
Enhance the quality of reports, coordinating events from start to finish, providing outreach support to employees, creating promotional material and literature, developing fresh story ideas, proofreading and revising communications and updating the division website as necessary.
Represent Public Works Division in a professional yet welcoming manner.
Education: College coursework, preferably graduation from an accredited two year college or a university with major course work in public administration, business, journalism, English, or a closely related field.

Work Background: Three years of progressively responsible experience in government administration, public relations or closely related field.
