A progressive government organization in fresno county region is looking for a Plant Mechanic Supervisor. This is a full-time position working for 9 to 12 months and can become permanent at the clients discretion. Compensation is DOE/DOQ.

Inspects, locates and diagnoses mechanical defects on the City wastewater treatment facilities, equipment and systems; operates vehicles and other equipment, including back hoes, tractors, road graders and similar equipment.
Repairs, overhauls and/or replaces motors and pumps, including bearings, valves, seals and sleeves; repairs and replaces drive chain mechanisms and sprockets; builds pump mounts and brackets, performing welding, drilling, fabricating, milling and tapping work; sets valve clearances; performs heavy equipment maintenance.
Acts as mechanical system reference and guide for operations personnel. Provides lead direction to plant personnel in performing repair and maintenance duties. May assist in the training of lower level personnel.
Cleans and adjusts chlorination and de-chlorination equipment and piping.
Makes a variety of facility inspections and determines extent of necessary repairs.
Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Mechanic. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of two years of experience in the repair and maintenance of large pumps, lift stations, or similar mechanical equipment or the performance of related work, and a high school diploma or equivalent

Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver s license. Possession of a Valid California Water Pollution Control Association Mechanical Technologist certification is desirable but not required.
