A municipal agency in the northeast area of LA County needs a Permit Technician for their Community Development Department. This position should run about 3 to 6 months, and is full time. For the right professional, this could become a permanent position!

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Advises and assists the general public, architects, engineers and contractors with technical information about building permit requirements, building codes, State, County and City laws.
Checks forms, permit applications, bonds, affidavits for accuracy and completeness.
Computes charges for building permits using standardized fee table and formulas.
Releases utilities, issues certificates of occupancy.
Serves the public at the counter providing specific information concerning fees, permits, legal requirements, procedures and the business of the department.
Receives and processes applications for building permits.
Two (2) years or more experience as a Permit Technician. ICC Certification highly desired, but not required.
