SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates departmental or agency-wide programs, activities and staff, reviews work in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with department policy, standards, and directions.
Prepares and administers the program budget; evaluates staffing levels and work assignments and makes recommendations; prepares work schedules and assigns personnel; submits hiring recommendations for approval; provides for the professional development of staff; conducts discipline as required.
May serve as a technical expert in the programmatic area to which assigned (e.G., training, auditing), including providing software training and support related to financial or other specified areas.
Recommends and establishes policies, procedures, and forms, maintains procedural manuals, and provides information regarding changes to departmental and agency staff.
Supervisory experience may be required for certain work assignments.
