DEPUTY FINANCE DIRECTOR

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Plans, organizes, reviews, supervises, and participates in the work of a group of subordinate professional, sub-professional and clerical employees engaged in maintaining municipal general ledger and budgetary control accounts for all agencies and funds of the city government.
Supervises and personally participates in the preparation of regular and special financial and statistical statements and reports.
Answers questions of subordinates regarding accounting problems which raise policy or other special questions and which do not follow prescribed patterns and procedures.
Studies, devises and installs revisions of systems and forms to facilitate the production of information and the control of receipts and expenditure.
Reviews budget requests submitted by Departments and put in final form for the review of the Finance Director and Administrative Officer.
Graduation from an accredited for year college or university with a degree in Business Administration and major course work in accounting supplemented by some graduate work in public administration.
Considerable experience as a professional accountant, including some municipal accounting supervisory experience.
