This is a full-time position but can also be part-time (if it helps meet your schedule) with a duration of at least 6 months and can become permanent at the client's discretion. Compensation is DOE/DOQ. This position will not look to start until mid-August.
PRIMARY DESCRIPTION: Plans, organizes, manages, and provides administrative direction and oversight for all functions and activities of the Public Works Department, including streets and traffic control, storm drain maintenance, water distribution, sewer collection, wastewater treatment operations and maintenance, solid waste, and fleet maintenance; fosters cooperative working relationships among agency departments and with intergovernmental and regulatory agencies and various public and private groups; provides highly responsible and complex professional assistance to agency management staff in areas of expertise; and performs related work as required.
Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be Equivalent to a Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public works, business administration, or a related field and seven (7) years of responsible public works services experience, including five (5) years of management experience. Licenses and Certifications: Valid CA Drivers License with clean driving record.
