You need to be able to step into budget meetings with other City Departments to free up the Finance Director's time. If you're great with Power Point presentations and preparing staff reports, this would be super.
Your job is to make the Finance Director's job easier by doing all the accounting analysis, research, and presentation work so the Director can focus on making the presentation to the City Council
The Budget Manager position is full-time and will be needed on an interim basis for 6 to 8 months but it could become permanent for the right person.
Compensation is highly.competitive, DOE/DOQ.
Extensive progressively responsible experience in public finance administration, with considerable supervisory and administrative experience, and graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in accounting, public administration, business administration, or related field.
Advanced Excel skills required, with privot tables, macros, and professional graphics presentations.
