A government agency in Orange County, CA is looking for an experienced Animal Services Manager or Supervisor to take over a vacant position within its Animal Care Facility. This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position is to run for at least 3 to 6+ months and is likely to be extended by client. Compensation is DOE/DOQ.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
To plan, organize, direct and manage the Animal Care Facility operations; ensure the enforcement of State and local laws relating to animal control services; investigate complaints; oversee animal care and adoptions, facility maintenance, contract services, field operations and administrative staff; coordinate public education and marketing programs; build collaborative relationships with community groups and industry professionals; provide information to the public; supervise, train, and evaluate staff; and provide highly complex staff assistance to the Executive Staff as it relates to the Animal Care Facility.
Any combination of education and/or experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be five years of responsible management level experience in the operation of a municipal or non-profit animal care facility, including two years of supervisory responsibility AND training equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business management, public administration, zoology, animal science or a closely related field.

License or Certificate: Possession of or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California Drivers License.
