A local government agency in southern San Diego County is looking for an experienced Accounting Technician to join its Finance Department to fill a position vacancy for 6 months. This is full-time position and can be extended or made permanent at clients discretion. Compensation is DOE/DOQ.

The main focus of work with be working bank reconciliations and T.O.T.S

Verifies claims, warrants, deposit slips, computer source documents, license applications, and other records for arithmetical accuracy, consistency, and budget classifications requiring application of established coding and record keeping practices.
Assembles, sorts, tabulates, codes, and files fiscal and statistical data; makes arithmetical calculations and verifies totals and extensions; performs computer data entry or maintains manual records to post, adjust, and balance accounts; allocates funds to correct accounts according to established procedure; balances and reconciles accounts.
Collects and accounts for money; issues vouchers and receipts; maintains petty cash, operates a cash register, balances cash receipts, and prepares deposits.
Prepares, audits, verifies, and otherwise processes various bills and invoices covered by purchase orders; verifies charges such as tax, shipping, handling, and discounts; completes data input forms for payment of invoices, maintains vendor files current; maintains balance on open purchase orders.
Three years or more related work experience in the Finance/Accounting department. Municipal experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.
